Brotherhood Membership 2024-2025

Dear Friends:

The Brotherhood welcomes you back for another great year at Larchmont Temple! I hope you and your families had a great summer.  Hopefully, you were able to join us for our incredible breakfast series this past season (thanks again to Jay Altschuler) We received wonderful feedback in face of the incredibly disturbing events of October 7th.  Those events which are still fresh in all our minds reinforced both our commitment and the significance of gathering to discuss relevant, topical subjects that we believe will highlight and foster discussion.  As you know, due to our incredible community we have been able to provide engaging, stimulating and sometimes controversial subjects.  This is what we as a brotherhood and congregation seek for our community engagement.

This letter launches our annual membership drive. By joining the Brotherhood, you are supporting an organization that has been part of the LT community since the temple’s founding in 1948. Your annual membership will support a variety of important LT activities including but not limited to:

  • Monthly Breakfasts
  • Blood drives
  • Yom HaShoah memorial candle distribution
  • Westchester Hebrew Softball League adult softball team

Thankfully, once again we are back to in-person events in the building and continuing our bagels and lox and schmear with various accoutrements. Our suggested annual dues are $90, if you'd like to contribute more, you can do so in increments of $18.  This entitles you to attend every one of our Sunday “breakfasts”.

We continue to offer complimentary Brotherhood membership to new Temple members for their first year of Temple membership. Brotherhood membership is open to both men and women of the Larchmont Temple community.

Our season opens with a bang!:

Sunday OCTOBER 20th 10AM: We will kick off our Brotherhood Breakfast series with Rachel Klein, the Executive Director of Hillels Westchester, to discuss the campus protests happening over the conflict in Gaza. This is an opportunity to gain a better understanding of the situation on the ground and develop a framework for taking action and providing support. Many of our congregants have children or grandchildren attending college or university, making them directly connected to the experiences and challenges students face. Campus protests often reflect broader societal issues that impact our community as a whole. By staying informed about these movements and understanding the perspectives of students, we can foster a more empathetic and engaged community. Finally, supporting Jewish students during times of unrest can strengthen our connection to the next generation and ensure a vibrant future for Jewish life.

I look forward to seeing you at our events. If you have any questions, please contact me directly at sethbronheim@gmail.com

Wishing you a year of good health and happiness in 5785.
